Meet our campus staff – Miles Seppelt

Ministry Experience:
- Became a Christian at age 26 while attending UMM – my friends must have invited me to InterVarsity a hundred times before I finally went!
- 11 years campus ministry experience
- Volunteer staff with IVCF at SCSU from 1999 to 2003
- Volunteer with D2C at SCSU from 2005 to 2008 – sort of a “hired gun”
- 11 mission trips
- Extensive experiance with leadership training & development, missions, discipleship, Bible Study, etc.

My Princess, my wife Ann
If you would have come to me before I became a Christian and share all the ways that God was going to use me, I would have said “you’re nuts!” Now I’m at a point where I don’t want to do anything else except serve Him!
Occupations:
- Economic Development Director, City of Hutchinson (until I complete the transition to full-time campus staff!)
- Staff, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on the campuses of SCSU / SJU / CSB
- Adjunct Professor, Community Development Department, SCSU (but not this year – budget cuts!)
Earlier Life:
- Former Tank Commander
- 20-year veteran of US Army / Minnesota National Guard
- 1 deployment overseas, chasing extremist types in Bosnia
Regarding my military experiance I tell people, “It was a good experiance, but not a fun experiance; I’m glad I did it, but I never want to do it again.” It’s hard to explain.

Some of my troopers - not to be messed with!
Strange but True:
- My Dad and I once spent 3 weeks touring Alaska, during which we camped out north of the Artic Circle, just so we could say we did it.
- A high school friend and I wanted to check out the sport of mountain climbing, so a few years back we flew to Colorado one weekend and climbed Mt. Elbert – the highest peak in the Rocky Mountain chain at 14,430 feet. Made it to the summit on the first attempt. Got altitude sickness, but not too bad.
- Back in 2001 I bought a van, threw a bed in the back, and just took off to see America. I spent the whole summer living out of my van and I saw EVERYTHING!! (Highly recommended!)
